National Manufacturing Day is celebrated to expand awareness of modern manufacturing careers and inspire students to explore manufacturing as a career.
Virginia Tech is hosting an event sponsored by Woodward, Inc., a global leader in the design, manufacture and service of energy conversion and control solutions for aerospace and industrial equipment.
Join us in the Goodwin Hall Atrium as we showcase the exciting manufacturing research, technologies, and capabilities happening across Virginia Tech. This event is an opportunity to engage with VT students and introduce them to the many possibilities and career opportunities within advanced manufacturing.
We’re looking for VT researchers to participate!
In Goodwin Hall Atrium. Participants are encouraged to participate in the session by doing one or more of the following:
- Presenting a research poster
- Providing a hands-on demonstration
- Displaying research examples, specimens, or manufactured parts
- Sharing your lab’s manufacturing research and capabilities
Posters must be printed through a student's department and 24" x 36" in size. Event management will provide easels and foam board.
Also in Goodwin Hall Atrium, Woodward, Inc. is sponsoring the events of Manufacturing Day and meeting with students. Woodward will have technical and HR leaders on-site to talk with you about employment and internship opportunities. Bring a copy of your resume, or upload it for review.

During this session, we will cover:
- Current Openings: Details on 2027 Summer Internships and Full-Time Engineering roles.
- Project Spotlights: A look at the real-world tech our teams are building right now.

Target Majors: Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, and Systems Engineering.
Woodward must follow U.S. export regulations, which restrict the release of certain technical information to individuals who are not "U.S. Persons". U.S. Persons include U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, persons lawfully admitted for U.S. permanent residence (green card holders), and persons lawfully granted U.S. asylum or refugee status by the U.S. Government. Many Woodward positions require access to export‑controlled information. To be considered for these roles, you must be a U.S. Person or qualify for a recognized export‑control exception or authorization.
Blacksburg restaurant Cabo Fish Taco will provide a food truck outside Goodwin Hall to purchase food during the event.
